Benefits

The scholarship will provide $20,500 per year for the published full-time duration of the recipient’s undergraduate (single or combined) degree up to a maximum total duration of 5 years full-time study or part-time equivalent. This will include the following:

  • a cash payment of $8,500 per year. This payment will be paid in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester.
  • Tuition fees up to the value of $12,000 per year. This payment will be paid direct towards the recipient’s tuition fees prior to the census date of each semester.

If the recipient’s tuition fees are less than $12,000 per year, the remaining funds will be paid to the recipient as a cash payment after the Semester 2 census date.

The purpose of the ARA Group Indigenous Scholarship is to provide financial support to undergraduate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying at the University of Sydney in science, engineering or architecture, design and planning.

The scholarship was established in 2024 and is funded by a donation from ARA Group Limited.
