Earth sciences conference run by students for students

Uniting a community of budding earth scientists from across NSW
School of Geosciences is hosting the Geological Society of Australia Earth Sciences Student Symposium for New South Wales. This conference will showcase research from both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Along with keynote presentations to compliment the student presentations on topics highly relevant to academia today, including the role of women and minorities in science, and the future of earth sciences in Australia.

The conference will highlight the most exciting areas of research and an opportunity for students to start building invaluable networks. It is anticipated that representatives from industry and government will attend, giving students the chance to network and explore job prospects for life after university.

This is a wonderful opportunity for students to expand their education beyond the lecture theatre. For many, this is the first conference experience, and is a perfect introduction the process of presenting work and taking questions from experts in the field.

All earth and environmental science students, regardless of their experience level, are invited to submit abstracts and register to attend. Abstract submission for presenters closes on October 12th, and conference registration closes on November 7 th. Entry is free for all students, with food, drinks and plenty of goodies provided on both days.
