Accessing Canvas

Logging in to Canvas

Once you have completed your enrolment you will have access to Canvas.

Log in using your UniKey and password. If you have any problems, contact us on 1800 793 864 (option 4 for ICT) or submit an online enquiry.

Your unit of study sites will appear in your Canvas dashboard one week before semester starts.

Download the Canvas app

Download the Canvas Student app to access Canvas on your mobile device and get communications delivered straight to your device.

For information on how to download and navigate the app visit the Student Canvas Guide.

Check your browser

We recommend you use the following browsers to access Canvas:

We recommend you install two browsers on your computer as this will give you an alternative if problems arise in one browser.

Help using Canvas

We have developed a Student Canvas Guide which contains instructions and support for Canvas.

In the guide you can find information on how to navigate Canvas, important features, and assignment submission. There are also FAQs from students and answers to common IT issues related to using Canvas.

The guide is an open website so you don’t have to log in to Canvas to view it. We recommend saving it to your Favourites list for quick access.

Assignment Submission

If you are submitting an assignment in Canvas, you can find help on the submitting an assignment page.
