Short-term accommodation

Where to stay for a few days or weeks
New to Sydney? You may need temporary housing while you find a longer term home. International students can also stay with a local family during the first few weeks in a new city.

Short-term housing

If you're moving from interstate or overseas, you may need a temporary base while you find a longer term home.

There are several options available for short-term stays. Some of the on-campus colleges also offer short-term stays during the winter and summer vacations.

We have listed a few options below for you to look at. Remember to book your accommodation in advance and make your own enquiries about the suitability and condition of the accommodation.

If you need to move urgently, please contact Accommodation Services. We will help you with options for moving, or provide information about emergency and short-term housing.

Financial Support Services can help enrolled students with essential living costs.

There are several hostels within walking distance or a short bus ride from our Camperdown and Darlington campuses.

All accommodation has been checked to make sure it is of a high standard and provides a supportive family environment.

A fully trained supervisor will match you with a suitable homestay host according to your needs and location preference.

Homestay arrangements can vary, but through our AHN partnership you can expect to receive:

  1. a clean furnished room (this includes items like a bed, desk, wardrobe, chair and a study lamp)
  2. a supportive family environment to live in
  3. meals (as specified) and accommodation including utilities
  4. ongoing homestay host and student support
  5. 24/7 professional phone support from AHN
  6. contents insurance for students and hosts as per AHN's insurance policy
