What would you change about our campus?
Have your say with the Shape My Campus survey, an annual survey that bridges the gap between campus planning and your university experience.
Last year was the first time we ran this survey, and more than 1,200 students took part, sharing almost 12,000 comments about what they love – and what they’d love to see improved — across Camperdown/Darlington campus.
This year, we've extended the survey to capture students at the Conservatorium, Camden, Narrabri, Westmead, and more!
Here’s what you told us:
"I love":
- Green spaces
- Beautiful buildings and architecture
- Libraries, learning hubs and study spaces
"I want to see improved":
- Toilets
- Food availability and cost
- Ageing facilities and buildings
- Layout and distance between buildings
Your feedback has already led to real change:
- More than 200 toilets across campus will have been refreshed by the end of 2025
- Cheap eats and $5 meals have been introduced, along with affordable vending machines, micro-markets, kitchenettes, and upgraded BBQ and outdoor eating spots
- Dozens of buildings are being repaired and restored, and hundreds of teaching and learning spaces have been refreshed
- Campus shuttle visibility has improved, and we’re investing in better lighting across campus.
Listening to your feedback
“Listening to our students is at the heart of how we shape the campus experience,” said Ben Wilkes, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Student Life).
“Your feedback gives us a direct line to what matters most, whether it’s creating more welcoming spaces to learn, study, socialise or simply take a break.”
“Last year’s survey sparked real change: many of the ‘Glow Up’ projects you see across campus today, from refurbished facilities to more affordable food options, came directly from what you told us.”
“This year, we’re expanding the survey to hear from even more students across our campuses, and we’re excited to keep building campuses that reflect your needs and ideas.”
