MRSC5048: Simulated and Interprofessional Learning

2024 unit information

This unit of study aims to further allow students the opportunity to develop their clinical radiography skills in a supportive learning environment. This unit of study will be run on campus involving the use of simulated learning and the opportunity for interprofessional learning experiences. Students will be able to access the on campus simulation clinic and CT facilities. Students will undertake activities to assist in the further development of more complex patient communication, teamwork and professionalism skills. Introductory CT skills will also be included.

At the completion of this unit, you should be able to:

  • LO1. demonstrate effective verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills in a simulated setting, including interactions with patients and health practitioners
  • LO2. establish and maintain effective and respectful working relationships with health practitioners, including demonstrating an awareness of your role in the health care team
  • LO3. display enhanced image critiquing skills of the axial skeleton, abdomen and pelvis, including the ability to alert an appropriate health professional when you observe findings of a medically urgent nature
  • LO4. further develop clinical reasoning skills and reflective practice
  • LO5. demonstrate a beginning understanding of the use, design and operation of computed tomography systems, including the demonstration of effective radiation safety practices.
