The focus of this core unit of study (UoS) is to investigate complex, cross-sectional and functional imaging techniques used to diagnose and treat various medical conditions. Students will critically evaluate evidence-based strategies to effectively image patients with cardiac, neurological, breast and prostate pathologies. The UoS will compare and contrast Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance, Ultrasound and Molecular Imaging modalities. Additionally, students will develop a thorough understanding of their role in recognising, communicating and conducting clinically appropriate imaging, working collaboratively in a team as well as advocating to support and enhance our patient's needs.
