For International Partners
The University of Sydney is developing Strategic, Operational and Action Plans around international engagement in the environment of its strategic objective to become 1:5:40. This focus has moved the University beyond merely seeking to recruit international students.
The University of Sydney is a member of:
- The Group of 8 Universities (G08)
- The Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU)
- The Worldwide Universities Network (WUN)
- Academic Consortium 21 (AC21)
The University is also an OECD Knowledge Partner
The focus of internationalisation has broadened to include maximizing the international experience and engagement of both staff and postgraduate students. Staff will be encouraged to internationalise their teaching curriculum and research interests and the international experience of students will be more diverse through interaction with internationally-recruited students, and participation in study abroad and exchange programs to and from diverse locations.
Two major goals have been developed:
- To provide a more diversified and improved international academic experience for students, especially postgraduates, and academic staff
- To grow and diversity international student and staff recruitment
