I am interested in cities as spatially and geometrically constrained complex systems. I explore how spatial and socio-economic processes interact, and how these interactions lead to morphological transformations and scaling. I like to think with data-driven analytics as well as physics-driven models. I am also interested in the structure and behavior of complex systems in the engineering and biological domains.

• Transport Lab: Structure of road and transit networks, dynamics on networks
• Urban Housing Lab: housing markets, affordability, density, equity, urban policy
• Complex systems and networks: Spectral properties, modularity, clustering, partitioning
• Smart Urbanism Lab: Urban data, analytics, informatics

Somwrita holds a Bachelor in Urban Planning from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, an M.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, and a PhD in Design Theory and Methodology from University of Sydney. Her PhD was awarded the Faculty of Architecture, Design, and Planning Exceptional PhD Award and was a finalist for the Rita and John Cornforth University PhD Medal.
