Prepare for a dynamic and rewarding career

In today’s complex and growing cities, architects need to be equipped with a diverse range of skills that will enable them to tackle social, environmental, commercial and aesthetic concerns critical to the built environment.

Architects design the buildings in which we live, work and play. The breadth and variety of work they undertake, from small-scale domestic projects to large commercial buildings and even the planning of entire cities, is already vast and opportunities are growing.

We offer a wide choice of architectural programs, each one supporting a variety of career pathways, opportunities for further study, and personal ambitions.

When you study with us, you will benefit from a uniquely flexible course structure. You will have access to our state-of-the-art computer laboratories and digital fabrication equipment, and will be able to use our traditional modelling workshops.

Opportunities for industry internships and international travel will further broaden your thinking as a design professional. In addition, we have an active calendar of events and an alumni program that sees visiting international scholars and architects delivering lectures and taking part in symposiums and debates. Our Tin Sheds Gallery provides a series of stimulating and thought-provoking exhibitions that will stimulate your ideas.

If you are a passionate learner and aspire to be an innovator in the practice of architecture, our programs will help you to realise your ambitions.

Whether you conclude your studies with an undergraduate degree, or proceed to one of our range of professional master’s degrees, you will be provided with the skills and knowledge to operate successfully in today’s complex and globalised built environment industries.

Career pathways include:

Undergraduate degrees

Bachelor of Architecture and Environments

The Bachelor of Architecture and Environments offers you a career pathway into the future of architecture, design, construction and urban planning. This multidisciplinary degree will provide you with the skills and knowledge to succeed in today’s complex global construction industries.

Bachelor of Design in Architecture

The Bachelor of Design in Architecture will introduce you to the rewarding profession of architecture, and is your first step to becoming a registered architect. This degree will enable you to conceptualise designs, test assumptions, evaluate results, and refine your craft. Through a studio-based program, you will learn to solve design challenges by working on real-world projects.

Double degree: Bachelor of Design in Architecture (Honours) and Master of Architecture

Coupling the undergraduate Bachelor of Design in Architecture with the postgraduate Master of Architecture, this double degree is tailored to empower a small group of highly capable students to become leaders in the architecture profession.

You will undertake all subjects that are core to the two standalone degrees and at the same time study a select suite of research-rich subjects that lead to the attainment of undergraduate honours, which otherwise requires an additional full year of study.

Postgraduate degrees

Master of Architecture

The Master of Architecture builds on your undergraduate experience and emphasises integrated and research-led design enquiry through studio-based projects, supported by core subjects in architectural history and theory, technologies and professional practice.
