2022 Global Voices Scholarship

4 February 2022
Encouraging students with a global perspective to apply
The Global Voices Scholarship will see one lucky student represent Australia at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris and possibly at the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Annual Meeting in Washington DC.

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences is proud to annouce its continued support of the Global Voices scholarship—fully funded and ideal for students with an interest in public policy, global trends, data and analysis, human, rights, economics and international development.

The scholarship includes all domestic and international flights, accommodation, breakfasts, visas, insurance, and registration fees.

The program includes attendance at both a domestic and international delegation, as well as private meetings with subject matter and policy experts, esteemed academics, Commonwealth Government Departmental Secretaries, members of the Australian Parliament, and leaders of civil-society and private organisations.

  • Global Voices research fellowship
  • Canberra pre-departure briefings program
  • Attendance at a multilateral forum - This will be the 2022 OECD forum if confirmed to proceed. Alternatively, it will include attendance at the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Annual Meeting (IMF & WB AGM) from October 14-16 in Washington DC. The IMF & WB AM will include the meetings of the Boards of Governors, the joint World Bank Group/IMF Development Committee and the IMF International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC). The Development Committee and the IMFC advise the Boards of Governors on issues of global concern, including the world economic outlook, poverty eradication, economic development, and aid effectiveness.

The research fellowship allows the successful applicant to develop research, analysis and policy-writing skills through developing a policy paper related to the delegation agenda. Your policy paper will include specific recommendations for domestic policy application.
