Important information

A number of Education courses have minimum Maths, English and HSC band requirements and prerequisites. Please check admissions information on the degree course page for details.

For students whose HSC results or subject choices do not meet the mathematics prerequisite for enrolment, the University offers a 30-hour massive open online course (MOOC) entitled "Introduction to Calculus", as a way to satisify the mathematics prerequisite before the deadline for finalising UAC preferences has passed.

Information about this option – including the October 2023 registration dates for exams related to enrolment in Semester One, 2024 – is available from the MOOC for mathematics webpage.

Applicants to all teacher-education degrees in Australia, except early childhood, are required to complete a brief personal statement that will allows us to assess their suitability for teaching against the non-academic qualities commonly found in successful teachers.

Sydney School of Education and Social Work will hold an interactive online session for Wednesday, September 20, from 4–4.30pm, to guide teaching-degree applicants through the process of preparing their personal statement. The session will cover both local and international application processes.

Register for the online session.
