headspace Day

On Monday October 9, people across Australia came together to celebrate headspace Day

headspace Day was an opportunity to show support for the 1 in 4 young Australians who experience a mental health issue in any given year.

One of our key focuses at Brain and Mind Centre is youth mental health and on Monday October 9, we celebrated headspace Day.

headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation. It runs clinics across the country to provide early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds, along with assistance in promoting young peoples’ wellbeing.

The headspace Camperdown clinic is one of the busiest in Australia and is heavily integrated with our research.

On headspace Day, we gathered together over lunch to share some personal mental health tips. We were treated to a very special performance by local hip hop artist Kween G (Kibone). And a specially-commissioned artwork by Aboriginal artist Dennis Golding (Kamilaroi, Gamilaraay) was also unveiled.
