Overview

The University of Sydney Law School's postgraduate program is one of the leading postgraduate coursework programs in law in Australia. It is a flexible and highly sought-after degree that caters specifically for the needs of the legal profession.

Our postgraduate coursework program is one of Australia's largest, with more than 120 units of study offered each year. We cater to more than 20 areas of specialisation as well as offering a number of specialised units of study, with units taught by our own experts as well as by international visitors.

Master's students from other institutions may apply to undertake one or more units of study offered by Sydney Law School on a cross-institutional basis.

Semester 1 - 31 January of the same year.

Semester 2 - 15 July of the same year.

Late applications may be considered subject to availability of places. We strongly encourage applicants to apply as early as possible, offers are made on a rolling basis and places are limited. Separate scholarship deadlines apply - check the scholarships website for details.

Semester 1 (February) and Semester 2 (August)

Admission requirement

Applicants must be currently enrolled in master's degree at another tertiary institution. Evidence of approval from the home institution must be provided with the application. Admission may be subject to completion of a law degree or equivalent qualification and/or fulfilment of prerequisites in previous study or your professional experience.
