If you are enrolled in an accredited postgraduate course of study in nursing at another institution, you may apply to undertake a unit or units of study at the University of Sydney which can be credited to your course requirements.

How to apply

Please contact the Postgraduate Student Advisor, Sydney School of Nursing on 02 9351 0504 prior to putting in your on-line application application.

Please submit the following with your application:

(1) letter from your home institution granting permission for cross-institutional study detailing approved units of study.

(2) certified copies of academic transcripts or clinical qualifications/achievements;

(3) certified copies of any degrees or diplomas;

(4) certified copy of current authority to practise as a registered nurse from an Australian state or territory;

(5) Statement of Support Clinical Assessment Requirement form (if appropriate) available from the Faculty website

(6) certified copy of your passport, birth certificate or citizenship certificate;

(7) certified copy of your marriage certificate or other appropriate documentation, if your name has changed;

(8) evidence of English proficiency (ie IELTS test results) if appropriate. any other relevant documentation that you feel may support your application.

Semester 1 - 20 February of the same year.

Semester 2 - 30 June of the same year.

Starting date

Semester 1 (March) and/or Semester 2 (August)

Semester 1 - 31 January of the same year.

Semester 2 - 30 June of the same year.

We strongly encourage international applicants to apply as early as possible to allow time for visa and travel arrangements. Separate Scholarship deadlines apply. Please check the scholarships website for details.

Admission criteria

You must be enrolled for the current academic year in an accredited postgraduate course of study in nursing at another institution. Your admission to a unit or units of study at the University of Sydney is subject to approval, which may include the fulfilment of prerequisites in previous study or your professional experience, and availability.
