To launch our Global Leaders Program Masterclass Series in August, two of Australia’s leading experts in International Law, Professor Mary Crock and Associate Professor Emily Crawford, from the University of Sydney, gave international students an online introduction to professional practice and research in the topical and socially conscious areas of International Criminal Law and Refugee Law.
In November 2020, we also delivered an online professional development program on ‘Globalisation of Higher Education’ to 200+ professional and academic staff of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China. The training took place over three weeks, with three webinars that featured the expertise of several staff at The University of Sydney.

We offer a number of core programs throughout the year which are open to applicants (18 years or older) currently attending one of our partner and network universities. Applications must be made through the students home institution, not to the Global Leaders Program directly.
This program is for undergraduate students currently studying law and will be delivered by leading academics as well as members from industry, government and non-governmental organisations to enable students to gain comprehensive knowledge and insight into Australia’s legal system and its approach to international law.
The modules for this year’s program will be “International Refugee Law” and “International Criminal Law”. In-class learning will be enhanced by site visits, field trips and discussions with law students from around the world.
*Please note that this program requires a minimum of 20 participants to go ahead.

Program fee in A$ per participant: $4660
This program is open to both undergraduate and post graduate students from all disciplines and will encourage a future-focused approach to innovation, tackling real problems like climate change, health and education.
Students from different disciplines will work together with academic leaders from science, art, engineering, design and to look beyond their own disciplines to develop creative solutions that make a difference.

Program fee in A$ per participant: $4160
Participants will learn the complexity of various global and local environment and sustainable development challenges, and appreciate the importance of multidisciplinary approaches to solve them.
Students will understand environmental and sustainability challenges from the Australian perspective and make some comparisons (similarities and differences) between Australia and their respective home countries.
Duration: Two weeks

With businesses increasingly operating on a global scale, this program will enhance students’ skills and understanding in important areas such as cross cultural communication, international business strategy, leadership and teamwork.
The program will be delivered as a mix of lectures and discussions, complemented by field trips and visits to industry.

This program will allow students to enhance their leadership, teamwork and cross-cultural competency through a series of workshops, discussions, field trips and cultural activities.
Participants from around the world will work together to deepen their understanding of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and propose solutions to current real world problems.
Applications must be made through the participants home institution, not to the Global Leaders Program directly.

The following is included in all our programs:
All of our programs are conducted in English. To achieve the best outcomes, participants must be confident in understanding, communicating, discussing and presenting in English. We recommend IELTS 6.0 or higher.
Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be issued with a personalised Certificate of Study from the Global Leaders Program at the University of Sydney.
Students who wish to obtain academic credit are responsible for making their own arrangements in advance with their home university.
We have been offering programs to university students for over 10 years.
Our programs are usually one to two weeks in length. The in-class learning is complemented by practical experiences including field trips, industry visits and networking opportunities.
Our program content is written and taught by University of Sydney academics.

Our University Staff Professional Development Program uses Australia and the University of Sydney as examples to explore the critical elements of internationalisation of the higher education sector at both a strategic and operational level.
Participants will also have the opportunity to meet with their professional counterparts from Sydney and around the world to establish professional networks for mutual benefit.

We have been offering professional programs to governmental employees, university staff and company personnel for over 10 years.
Our programs are usually one week in length. The content is enhanced by visits that will enrich the learning experience, such as visits to relevant companies, organisations, or practical experiences with people from the relevant field to consolidate learning.
Our program content is written and taught by University of Sydney academics.
