Honours in Plant Science is offered as an appended honours program comprising 48 credit points. Honours provides students with an opportunity to undertake independent, research-led learning, develop advanced analytical and communication skills, and work closely with academic supervisors on a substantial research project that often serves as a pathway to higher degree research or professional practice. Potential projects in this honours area can be found here.
The program includes 6 credit points of core coursework, 6 credit points of selective coursework chosen in consultation with the supervisor to support the research focus, and a 36-credit-point research project. The research project is assessed through a dissertation, oral presentation, and viva.
Honours is available to students who have a completed a major in an area relevant to their project and have met the requirements outlined in the relevant course resolutions. Admittance into the program is determined by the Faculty of Science as well as the Honours Coordinator.
