Molecular Biology and Genetics

Molecular Biology and Genetics is a multi-disciplinary major taught within the School of Life and Environmental Sciences in the Faculty of Science. Units of study in this major are available at standard and advanced level.

Program structure and content

The School of Life and Environmental Sciences teaches Molecular Biology and Genetics to Science and Medical Science students at the Junior, Intermediate and Senior levels.

First year planning for a Molecular Biology and Genetics major

Essential: MBLG1001/1901/1991, 6 credit points of Junior BIOL and 12 credit points of Junior CHEM.

Requirements for a major

For a major in Molecular Biology and Genetics, the minimum requirement is 24 credit points from the Senior units of study listed in this subject area in Table 1 - Molecular Biology and Genetics.

Honours

In order to study Molecular Biology and Genetics in an Honours year, eligible students can enrol in the Molecular Biology and Genetics Honours Program at the School of Life and Environmental Sciences.
