These resolutions must be read in conjunction with applicable University By-laws, Rules and policies including (but not limited to) the University of Sydney (Coursework) Rule 2014 (the 'Coursework Rule'), the Coursework Policy 2014, the Resolutions of the Faculty, the University of Sydney (Student Appeals against Academic Decisions) Rule 2006 (as amended) and the Academic Board policies on Academic Dishonesty and Plagiarism. 2 Attendance pattern

The attendance pattern for this course is full time or part time according to candidate choice.

3 Admission to candidature

Admission to this course is on the basis of a secondary school leaving qualification such as the NSW Higher School Certificate (including national and international equivalents), tertiary study or an approved preparation program. English language requirements must be met where these are not demonstrated by sufficient qualifications taught in English. Special admission pathways are open for mature aged applicants who do not possess a school leaving qualification, educationally disadvantaged applicants and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Applicants are ranked by merit and offers for available places are issued according to the ranking. Details of admission policies are found in the Coursework Rule.

4 Requirements for the award

(1)
The units of study that may be taken for the course are set out in Table A from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and in the table of undergraduate units of study: University of Sydney Business School and in the Faculty of Science Table 1(Psychology).
(2)
To qualify for the award of the pass degree, a candidate must complete 192 credit points and three majors, comprising of:
either
(a)
one major from the School of Economics (Economics, Econometrics, Financial Economics, Agricultural Economics or Environmental and Resource Economics), and
(b)
two additional majors from Table A where no more than one is chosen from School of Economics majors;
or
(c)
one major from the School of Economics (Economics, Econometrics, Financial Economics, Agricultural Economics or Environmental and Resource Economics), one additional major from Table A, and one major from the following:
(i)
Accounting
(ii)
Business Analytics
(iii)
Business Information Systems
(iv)
Commercial Law
(v)
Finance
(vi)
Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management
(vii)
International Business
(viii)
Management
(ix)
Marketing
(x)
Psychology
(3)
Elective units of study selected from any of the majors, and ensuring:
(a)
no more than 60 credit points in junior units of study
(b)
96 credit points of units of study from the School of Economics or the School of Economics and the Business School

7 Majors

Completion of a minimum of three majors is a requirement of the course. The majors available are listed in Table A of the Resolutions of the Faculty and may also include the following majors from the Business School and the Faculty of Science subject to section (6):

Units of Study counted towards one major may not count toward any other major completed.

8 Requirements for the Honours Degree

Honours is available to meritorious candidate, in either or both the Bachelor of Arts or the Bachelor of Economics.
(1)
Admission and award requirements for honours in the Bachelor of Economics and the Bachelor of Arts are listed in the resolutions of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

9 Award of the degree

(1)
Candidates will be awarded a separate testamur for each degree completed.
(2)
The Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Economics are awarded as either Pass or Honours. The honours degree is awarded in classes ranging from First Class to Third Class according to the rules specified in the Resolutions of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
(3)
Candidates for the award of the Honours degree who do not meet the requirements, and who have not already graduated, will be awarded the pass degree.

10 Course transfer

A candidate may abandon the combined course program and elect to complete either the Bachelor of Arts or the Bachelor of Economics in accordance with the resolutions governing that degree. Completion of the abandoned degree in the future will require a new application for admission to candidature for that course and completion in accordance with the resolutions governing that degree.

11 Transitional provisions

These resolutions apply to students who commence their candidature after 1 January, 2015
