Undergraduate, juris doctor and postgraduate scholarships
We are proud to offer our students more than half a million dollars worth of scholarships for law study and opportunities.

Our diverse scholarships for domestic and international students recognises potential; assists those in need; and rewards high achievement across our undergraduate, juris doctor, postgraduate, postgraduate research and Oxford partnership programs.

The School’s scholarships offer you the financial freedom to focus on your study and other commitments. Scholarships range in value from $1,000 to support internships to up to $87,500 to support PhD study.

Commenting on the value of a postgraduate scholarship, Ross Waite Parsons Scholarship awardee Jaison John said: “As an international student from India, the scholarship provided me with the financial support to pursue the Master of Laws program at the University of Sydney.

“The program was taught by world-class experts, which enabled me to think globally and not just locally. I’m now working in the legal department at ACWA Power, contributing to various exciting projects, including the world’s largest concentrated solar power project in Dubai.”

We are also excited to announce the launch of the brand-new Dean’s Scholarship for Juris Doctor or Master of Laws international students. It aims to assist exceptional international students and is valued at $10,000 per annum for the duration of the degree.

For Juris Doctor graduate, Elizabeth Toriola, the Wigram Allen JD Scholarship helped take the financial pressure off her degree. “During busy exam and clerkship periods, I was able to reduce my work load and not have to stress about expenses,” she said.

In addition to the financial benefit, our scholarship programs also offer opportunities to connect with our academic staff and other scholars; allow you to undertake internship and research opportunities; and help you to graduate with a highly regarded degree and strong employment opportunities.

These scholarships can also assist you in realising your international education aspirations. Luca Moretti (LLB ’17) was awarded the Charles Herbert Currey Memorial Scholarship and the Hannah Fullerton Scholarship, which assisted his studies at Oxford.

“I am very grateful for the support that was given to me by the University of Sydney. This took the form not only of a first-rate undergraduate education, but practical financial assistance by way of the university’s travelling scholarships, for which I am particularly thankful,” said Luca.
