The Chau Chak Wing Museum is pleased to partner with 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art and the Power Institute to present a back-to-back lecture with two exciting and thought-provoking talks for the Lunar New Year festival.

Chasing the Dragon: Migration in contemporary practice

2pm: 'Chasing the Dragon' is a panel discussion with WeiZen Ho, Jacquie Meng, and Dongwang Fan moderated by Con Gerakaris. Delving into migratory stories and their impact on creative practices. Asking how transitions, whether cultural or geographical, bring forth questions about place and belonging for diasporic artists. How do we reconcile with the legacies of our origins and our current locations?

From Smart to Master: A Journey with China's Most Misunderstood Internet Subculture.

3pm: This engaging lecture performance delves deep into the heart of Beijing-based artist Ye Funa's solo exhibition 'Transform:Me', celebrating the SMART (Sha-ma-te) subculture. An exploration and expansion on Ye Funa's journey into a unique and often misinterpreted subcultural phenomenon among migrant workers.
