About the speakers

Professor Peter McNeill is Distinguished Professor of Design History at the University of Technology Sydney. Co-editor of Fashion Theory, his writings about the cultural history of fashion are widely remarked. He was a member of Fashioning the Early Modern, a multi-site EU research collective that explored issues such as Dutch power dressing, relevant to this panel.

Catherine Rogers is a Sydney-based artist with a research practice in the history, culture and practices of photography. Throughout her forty-year career, Rogers has exhibited extensively and has been included in exhibitions locally, nationally, and internationally. Museums and gallery exhibitions and she was recently awarded the Nicholas and Angela Curtis Cité Internationale des Arts Residency Fellowships for 2023.

Jennifer Yang graduated from the University of Sydney in 2022 with First Class Honours in a Bachelors of Arts (Art History). Her research centres on east and southeast Asian modern and contemporary art. Her writing appears in New Mandala, Columbia Undergraduate Journal of Art History, and ArtLink (forthcoming). Jennifer has assisted and led curatorial projects at Museum MACAN and 16albermarle project space.

Miranda Luo completed her Honours in Art History in 2021. She is currently working as a research assistant for Dr Peyvand Firouzeh. Her research interests include manuscript cultures from the Persianate tradition and artistic exchanges between Persia and China.
