Deep Listening: Stories of Country

Tuesday 28 March, 5 – 7pm

Deep Listening: Stories of Country launch event with panel discussion and musical performance.

As described by Dadirri* practitioner and expert Dr Miriam-Rose Ungunmerr, ‘Deep Listening’ is an inner, a deep sense of quiet and still awareness that rests inside of us. It is a reflection that taps into Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s special respect for Nature and spiritual connection and profound care for Country.

Deep Listening-Stories of Country is a 5-part podcast inspired by this unique understanding of Indigenous connections to Country. Come and hear from the Deep Listening** podcast team (Tracey Cameron, SESW & Ben Nickl, SLC) and our guests about how and why they came on the podcast to share stories about themselves and their connections to Country in a generous spirit of truth-telling and deep meaning.

Panellists

Associate Professor Lynette Riley, Head of Indigenous Studies and Aboriginal Education, The University of Sydney

Ben Bowen, Head of Indigenous Literacy Foundation Australia

Marika Duczynski, Indigenous Heritage Curator, Chau Chak Wing Museum
