Framing the Shot: A photography school holiday program

How do you pose for a photograph?
Monday 3 July to Friday 7 July and Monday 10 July to Friday 14 July, 10 am – 12 pm: join us for free arts and craft activities inspired by our two photography exhibitions.

Hi kids, join us for free arts and craft activities inspired by our two photography exhibitions each morning of the holidays.

To mark the exhibitions The Staged Photograph and Photography and the Performative, the Chau Chak Wing Museum is hosting a winter school holiday program focussed on photography of the past and present.

We invite you to discover the history of photography and learn about cameras over time from old daguerreotypes to your mobile phone. Do arts and craft activities to take home, help us with worksheets and take photographs of your favourite museum objects, print them off and help us make a photography collage of the museum.

Or you could pose for a photograph like children did in the old black and white studio photographs from more than 100 years ago or create your own new poses in the museum for a selfie. Print off the photograph from your adult’s phone.

Join us for a free, drop in workshop each weekday morning of the winter school holidays. All welcome!

Suitable for 5-12 year olds.

Parents, carers and guardians are required to remain with their children.

Bookings are not required.
