Join University of Sydney students for a free guided tour of our major exhibition 'Light & Darkness'. 

Each Thursday afternoon, join a University of Sydney student as they offer a fresh perspective on the works in our current exhibition Light & Darkness.

Each week, discover more about a specific work in the exhibition and learn about the artist who created it from a future leader of the arts community.

Meet the students

Davina Nair

Davina Nair

Davina Nair is a third-year student at the University of Sydney undertaking a Bachelor of International Relations and Politics (Advanced Studies) and majoring in Art History.

Davina has a particular passion for viewing world affairs through the prism of art history and moulding different perspectives. She is active in student life currently serving as the Student Representative of the Art History Department and is also the Vice President of the Diplomats Society.

Davina has extended her academic learnings through having successfully been selected to undertake a Summer Scholarship at the Charles Perkins Institute and has participated as a member of the Sydney Policy Reform Project.

India Urwin

India Urwin

India Urwin holds a BA (Hons) in Art History, with First Class Honours, and has recently completed the Master of Art Curating at the University of Sydney.

India has a critical interest in postcolonial intervention in art practice, discussion, and industry. She is currently the Assistant Curator at Head On Foundation and Assistant Editor of Interactional photography magazine.

Anne Sutherland

Ann Sutherland

Ann completed a higher degree by research thesis which investigated Australian visual arts exhibitions within cultural diplomacy in the inter-war period late in 2021. 

Ann is interested in exhibition history and the societal role of museums and galleries not just within an academic framing but also from her experience as a volunteer within institutions and external public arts programming for the past decade. She guides Australian, international contemporary and Asian collections and special exhibitions at the Art Gallery of NSW.

Ann has also recently initiated a series of presentations on exhibition and institutional history and on public art with the University of the Third Age in the city.

Blake Bridgewater

Blake Bridgewater 

Blake is currently studying a Bachelor of Visual Arts with Advanced Studies majoring in Art History.

He is interested in analogue processes and their translations to digital spheres. His practice is centred around a process-oriented approach to intermedia installation, image-making and sound.
