Join us at the museum to hear Tuan Nguyen, Assistant Curator at the Powerhouse Museum, discuss WorldPride and LGBTQIA+ representation today.

Sydney WorldPride 2023 (17 February – 5 March) is a momentous occasion with over 300 events and an expected audience of 500,000 people. Join Tuan Nguyen as he discusses his journey through the festival—its parties, exhibitions and events—reflecting on the cultural moment of WorldPride and what it tells us about LGBTQIA+ representation today. His journey is interwoven with his involvement in the Absolutely Queer exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum and his contemporary collecting efforts around WorldPride.

About the speaker

Tuan Nguyen (he/him) is an Assistant Curator at the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney. His curatorial practice is guided by a concern to reflect diverse social and community histories, create powerful experiences and effect change. Tuan delivered the Zampatti Powerhouse (2022) and Absolutely Queer (2023) exhibitions.
