Dean's welcome

A message from the Dean
Music is an amazing art that is at the centre of all human life. It stretches through time, through culture, through sound, through politics and simply through enjoyment.

I’d like to welcome you to the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, University of Sydney. We comprise a group of musicians, researchers, educators, composers, conductors and students who are all passionate about our practice and we would like you to join us.

Students here enjoy a suite of top-class degrees that will prepare them for an enormous range of musical and arts-related careers. If you are passionate about jazz, this is the place for you. If you want to create music, this is the place for you. If you want to teach music, this is the place for you. Students are supported through their studies with a comprehensive curriculum that involves the place of music in history, understanding the variety of different genres of music and the way those genres shape thinking and practice, the opportunity to study areas beyond music, and the through the huge number of practice options.

I invite you to explore our web pages and listen to our music on our YouTube channel. We would love to see you here soon.
