Community engagement

Join us for a concert, masterclass or research talk
Our community of staff, students, alumni, scholars, concert goers and visiting artists is rapidly expanding. As part of our community, the variety of music you can engage with at the Conservatorium is diverse.

Sydney Conservatorium of Music caters to a wide range of music lovers – from the very young to the international virtuoso. Whether you are primary school student or retiree, or anywhere in between, we have an exciting range of courses, concerts and community projects that you can be part of.

It is never too late to learn music and Open Academy at the Con has a wide range of programs, short courses and workshops available to musicians of all ages, from Rising Stars and up.

Watch our best students participate in a masterclass with internationally renowned musicians – our masterclasses are free and open to the public. In 2018 we are pleased to be partnering with Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Musica Viva Australia to learn from their visiting artists.

Our tertiary program extends beyond Sydney. Visit one of our partner regional Conservatoriums to:

  • join us for a concert
  • hear one of our touring ensembles
  • listen to a buddy teaching children to play violin.

You can also check out where our international Henderson Travellers Program participants are heading this year and find out more about our brand new Composing Women participants.
