These exciting opportunities will support international travel as a means of building your artistic skills, cultural competence, depth of musical expertise, communication skills, creativity and ability to make use of new musical experiences that will enhance your current studies.
Up to three string quartets will be selected for specialist training, concert opportunities, tailored mentoring, specialist masterclass opportunities and travel to an international chamber music academy.
Up to eight students enrolled in the Conservatorium's postgraduate Opera program will audition to secure support to collect operatic roles through performance in international young performers programs.
Up to eight students will audition to secure support to attend a program that will be decided when applications resume in Semester 2.
These groups can consist of wind, brass, historically informed performance, contemporary, piano trios, improvised etc There is no restriction on the form of the group but students in an ensemble must only audition as part of ONE group and not more.
Each student will undertake an application and video audition process to secure a Conservatorium Henderson Travellers scholarship, that will support an approved activity.
The below scholarships are available for postgraduate students and/or graduates interested in pursuing studies overseas and require financial assistance for overseas study, tuition and living expenses.
Current postgraduate students and graduates of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music are eligible to apply for the Henderson International Graduate Scholarship in 2021. The scholarship allows for advanced students of piano, violin and operatic singing to further study and research abroad.
The Sydney Moss Scholarship is available to current postgraduate or alumni of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music at the University of Sydney who would like to pursue further instrumental, vocal or compositional studies in an approved school of music overseas.
The Albert Travelling Scholarship is open to graduate students of the University of Sydney who have received Honours in a Music or Arts degree with a major in Music and require financial support to travel overseas to further their studies. All prospective students for this scholarship must either receive an unconditional offer of admission or be currently enrolled full time in a postgraduate coursework or research degree at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
