We offer a free, one-hour guided tour of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music for high school students to learn about our state-of-the-art campus and the amazing students and staff who have performed and studied here.
Our guides will lead you through the Conservatorium, with its practice spaces and performance venues, including the historic Verbrugghen Hall, our main concert hall. Hear stories of former students, check out the biggest music library in the southern hemisphere and learn more about the area’s history – not only was the Con once the site of government stables, there are remnants of the first bakery in NSW beneath Verbrugghen Hall.
You may wish to book your tour to coincide with a music workshop (see below) or one of our lunchtime concerts. On Wednesdays and Thursdays during semester (March to June, August to November), we usually have a free lunchtime concert at 12.30pm. Concerts run for 45 minutes.
We need a minimum of 5 people to run a tour, and if there are more than 20 people in your group, please let us know and we will discuss other options. We also ask that you give us four weeks’ notice.
