SCM Wind Symphony

Opening the Greenway Series for Semester 2, the SCM Wind Symphony presents a dynamic program spanning the twentieth century to today.
Led by Stephen Williams and featuring Concerto Competition winner Henry Docker in John Mackey's Concerto for Soprano Sax and Wind Ensemble, this concert showcases the versatility and expressive range of the symphonic wind repertoire. The program concludes with a colourful arrangement of Paul Dukas' beloved The Sorcerer's Apprentice.
SCM Early Music Ensemble

Professor Neal Peres Da Costa and Dr Julia Russoniello lead the SCM Early Music Ensemble in Chiaroscuro in Late-Romantic Melodrama, a program exploring the expressive contrasts of nineteenth-century instrumental and vocal music.
Featuring guest sopranos Anna Fraser and Claire Burrell-McDonald, the concert includes selections from Wagner's Wesendonck Lieder alongside works by Tchaikovsky and Elgar.
SCM Symphony Orchestra

The SCM Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Roger Benedict, presents a program of orchestral colour, drama and imagination.
Featuring Concerto Competition winner Joshua Han in Rachmaninoff's monumental Piano Concerto No. 3 and a world premiere by SCM student composer Connor Dooley, the concert highlights both emerging and established musical voices. The program culminates in Prokofiev's witty and evocative Lieutenant Kijé Suite and Ravel's enchanting Mother Goose Suite.
SCM New Music Ensemble

The SCM New Music Ensemble, conducted by Benjamin Northey, presents a program exploring bold contemporary voices from home and abroad. Featuring Anna Meredith's Moon, a vibrant genre-bending work for amplified chamber ensemble and electronics, alongside Esa-Pekka Salonen’s Fog, Liza Lim's Songs Found in a Dream and the premiere of a new work by SCM student composer, Hayden Gardiner.
SCM New Music Ensemble

Student soloists take centre stage in this program from the SCM New Music Ensemble, conducted by Benjamin Northey.
The concert includes works by Stuart Greenbaum and Andrew Boss alongside SCM staff member Paul Stanhope and SCM alumna Elena Kats-Chernin. This powerhouse program celebrates virtuosity, innovation and the expressive possibilities of contemporary ensemble composition.
SCM Wind Symphony

International guest conductor Cynthia Johnston Turner, Dean of the Faculty of Music at Wilfrid Laurier University, leads the SCM Wind Symphony in its final program of 2026.
Featuring contemporary works by Mark Grandison, Viet Cuong and Lindsay Bronnenkant, the concert explores vibrant musical storytelling, striking colours and imaginative sound worlds. The program culminates in David Maslanka's monumental Symphony No. 4, a landmark work of the wind ensemble repertoire that combines spiritual reflection and exhilarating musical power.
SCM Early Music Ensemble

The SCM Early Music Ensemble presents a vibrant concert under the direction of Professor Neal Peres Da Costa. Early Music Ensemble (EME) provides a unique ensemble experience for students specialising in performance on period or historical instruments using historically informed performing practices.
With members drawn from the breadth of the Conservatorium's student body, EME performs repertoire from the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical and early Romantic eras, mentored and guided by Australia's most accomplished scholars and practitioners of historically informed performance.
SCM Choirs with Elder Conservatorium Chorale

The Sydney Conservatorium of Music Choir and Chamber Choir join forces with the Elder Conservatorium Chorale for a special collaborative performance showcasing choral excellence across two of Australia's leading tertiary music institutions.
Conducted by Paul Stanhope, Elizabeth Scott and Carl Crossin OAM, the program spans traditional and contemporary Australian repertoire, celebrating the artistry, musical exchange and collaborative spirit at the heart of choral music-making.

SCM Symphony Orchestra

The SCM Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Roger Benedict, presents a special concert to close the 2026 Greenway Series.
Featuring Concerto Competition winner Anneke Brahe in Keiko Abe's Prism Rhapsody for Marimba and Orchestra alongside the premiere of a new work by SCM student composer Hugo Ceran Jerusalemy, the concert showcases both emerging and established voices. The program concludes with Dvořák's Symphony No. 8, a fitting and exuberant finale before the orchestra embarks on its South American tour.
