This project is to bring intelligent and convenient tools to enable the maximum content utilization of Digital TV.
It is anticipated that Digital TV will be the ultimate gateway of information consumption in the near future due to the convergence of TV, computer, and the Internet. In order to avoid being overloaded by rich media contents, users demand novel techniques to efficiently meet their information needs. Rich media enables us to better analyze the digital contents by accounting for its multi-modal information.This project aims to investigate and develop techniques for Digital TV content analysis including classification (e.g. TV commercials), retrieval, story segmentation, scene discovery, event tracking, and trend detection.
