Who's eligible
You must:
- be currently enrolled either in a full time or part time in the Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor degrees at the University of Sydney Law School
- must have been approved by the Sydney Law School to undertake a law program including inter alia international mooting, legal internships, legal placement (for credit or co-curricular), exchange offshore programs, etc.

This Scholarship has been funded by a bequest made in 1973 by Mrs Linda Currey in memory of her husband, Charles Herbert Currey, MA LLD.
The Scholarship will support students from the University of Sydney Law School who are participating in a law program including inter alia international mooting, legal internships, legal placement (for credit or co-curricular), exchange offshore programs, etc.
1. Background
a. This Scholarship has been funded by a bequest made in 1973 by Mrs Linda Currey in memory of her husband, Charles Herbert Currey, MA LLD.
b. The Scholarship will support students from the University of Sydney Law School who are participating in a law program including inter alia international mooting, legal internships, legal placement (for credit or co-curricular), exchange offshore programs, etc.
2. Eligibility
a. Applicants must be currently enrolled either in a full time or part time in the Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor degrees at the University of Sydney Law School.
b. Applicants must have been approved by the Sydney Law School to undertake a law program including inter alia international mooting, legal internships, legal placement (for credit or co-curricular), exchange offshore programs, etc.
3. Selection Criteria
a. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of:
I. academic merit (transcripts), and
II. personal statement addressing the following:
i. why the applicant wants to participate in an international mooting, legal internships, legal placements, exchange and offshore programs and how it will further their academic, career and personal goals; and
ii. the contributions the applicant has made to the University and/or community including volunteering, extracurricular and sporting activities.
b. The Scholarship will be awarded on the nomination of a selection committee consisting of the Head of School and Dean of the Sydney Law School or their nominated delegate, and at least one other staff member from the School.
4. Value
a. The Scholarship is valued at $3,000 (fixed amount) and is paid as a one-off payment on receipt of Scholarship Acceptance Form.
b. Deferral of the Scholarship is not permitted without the prior permission of the Head of School and Dean of the Sydney Law School, or their nominee, and it is not transferable to another University school, faculty or university.
c. The Scholarship will be offered subject to the availability of funds.
d. No other amount is payable.
5. Termination
a. The Scholarship will be terminated if the recipient:
I. withdraws from an eligible course or fails to enrol,
II. withdraws or fails to enrol in the approved law program such as inter alia international mooting, legal internships, legal placement (for credit or co-curricular), exchange offshore programs, etc.,
III. is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application, or
IV. any other provision as indicated in these terms that would lead to termination.
b. Once the Scholarship has been terminated, it will not be reinstated.
c. Where a student is found guilty of serious misconduct or the Scholarship is terminated under any instance in the Termination Clause of these terms and conditions, the University reserves the right to request that any Scholarship funds paid to the Scholarship recipient be reimbursed.
