No application is required. Eligible students will be considered for this scholarship as part of their admission application to the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
The amount offered is based on the selection criteria.Three scholarships are available.
Note: If you are commencing a second degree at the University of Sydney, you are eligible if you have not previously held this scholarship. If applying with credit from partner institutions, your credit must not exceed 48 credit points for a bachelor degree or 24 credit points for a masters degree.
The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences International Scholarship is awarded to exceptional international students from diversity priority markets.
a. The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences International Scholarship is awarded to exceptional international students from diversity priority markets.
a. To be considered for this Scholarship potential students must have applied for but not yet commenced a bachelor's degree or a coursework master's degree that is a CRICOS registered award program delivered onshore in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Sydney.
b. Once enrolled in the applicable degree applicants must enrol full-time.
c. Students commencing a second degree at the University of Sydney are eligible provided they have not previously held this Scholarship.
d. Students applying with credit from partner institutions are eligible to be considered if their credit does not exceed 48 credit points if commencing a bachelor's degree, or 24 credit points if commencing a master's degree.
e. Students must be international students at the time of application.
f. No separate application is required for this Scholarship.
a. The Scholarship will be awarded on academic merit as assessed from the applicants application for admission.
b. The Scholarship will be awarded by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
a. Successful recipients will be provided with a Scholarship valued at $20,000 per annum for one year, paid in two equal instalments per semester after the applicable census date.
b. Deferral of the scholarship is permitted for up to 12 months.
c. The Scholarship may not be suspended.
d. The Scholarship is transferable to another major or degree within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences but is not transferrable to another Faculty or University.
e. The Scholarship will be offered subject to the availability of funds.
f. No other amount is payable.
a. The recipient must maintain a minimum semester average mark (SAM) of 65 and have no outstanding fees.
b. Recipients undertaking an exchange during the tenure of this scholarship are required to have achieved a Satisfied Requirements grade (SR) to receive their next payment.
a. The Scholarship will be terminated if the recipient:
I. withdraws from an eligible course or fails to enrol,
II. becomes a domestic student before the relevant census date,
III. commences part-time study without prior approval,
IV. does not maintain satisfactory academic performance,
V. is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application,
VI. accepts an alternative scholarship, administered by the University of Sydney, valued at $6,000 per annum or more for the same purpose as this Scholarship, or
VII. does not resume study at the end of a period of approved leave.
b. Once the Scholarship has been terminated, it will not be reinstated unless due to University error.
c. Where a student is found guilty of serious misconduct or the Scholarship is terminated under any instance in the Termination Clause of these terms and conditions, the University reserves the right to request that any Scholarship funds paid to the Scholarship recipient be reimbursed.
