This scholarship is valued at $5,000 or $10,000. The exact value of a recipients scholarship will be outlined in their scholarship offer letter.
The duration of the scholarship is 1 year if a recipient is enrolled full-time. If a recipient enrols part-time, their scholarship will be extended to ensure they recieve the full value of the scholarship.

1. Background
a. Established in 2023, this Scholarship has been generously funded by the Faculty of Engineering to support and encourage students who identify as a woman to commence an undergraduate degree offered by the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Sydney.
2. Eligibility
a. The scholarship is offered subject to the applicant qualifying for admission to an undergraduate degree (including combined degrees) offered by the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Sydney.
b. Applicants must:
I. be completing their secondary studies in the year they apply for the scholarship, or
II. have completed their secondary studies in the year prior to applying for the scholarship.
c. Applicants must be a domestic student.
d. Applicants must identify as a woman.
3. Selection Criteria
a. The scholarship will be awarded based on the applicant’s:
I. academic merit,
II. level and performance in mathematics subjects studied at secondary school,
III. motivation and engagement in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in their written responses in the application form, and
IV. the Index of Community Socio-Education Advantage (ICSEA) score of the secondary school they attended.
b. The scholarship will be awarded by the Associate Dean (Education) of the Faculty of Engineering, or their nominated delegate based on the recommendation of the selection committee.
4. Value
a. The full-time value of the scholarship will be outlined in the recipient’s scholarship offer letter.
b. The duration of the scholarship for full-time enrolled students will be up to one (1) year.
c. Students who receive a conditional scholarship offer will be able to access the Faculty of Engineering Early Conditional Offer Scheme.
d. Payments will be made in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester.
e. The scholarship can be held whilst studying part time. Recipients will receive 50% of the full-time payment of the scholarship if they enrol part-time (less than 18 credit points) in a semester.
f. If a student enrols part-time, the duration of their scholarship will be extended to ensure they receive the total full-time value of the scholarship outlined in their scholarship offer letter.
g. Deferral and/suspension of the Scholarship is not permitted without prior approval of the Associate Dean (Education), Faculty of Engineering.
h. This scholarship is transferable to a new degree or stream within the Faculty of Engineering. Funding will only be provided for the original awarded duration less the period of studies already undertaken.
i. The Scholarship will be offered subject to the availability of funds.
j. No other amount is payable.
5. Ongoing Eligibility
a. To continue receiving the scholarship payment a recipient must:
I. maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 50 each semester, or
II. achieve a satisfied requirements grade (SR) if undertaking an exchange.
b. The conditions outlined in clause 5.a may be waived by the Associate Dean (Education) at their discretion.
6. Termination
a. The Scholarship will be terminated if the recipient:
I. withdraws from or fails to enrol in an eligible course,
II. does not maintain satisfactory academic performance,
III. is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application,
IV. receives and accepts an alternative scholarship administered by the Faculty of Engineering or any School within the Faculty of Engineering valued at $6,000 per annum or more for the same purpose as this scholarship. The exception to this is where the recipient is awarded a placement scholarship, in which case this scholarship will be suspended for the duration of the placement. It will be reinstated at the completion of the placement if there is any scholarship candidature remaining. The value of this scholarship for the period of the placement will be forfeited, or
V. does not resume study at the end of a period of approved leave.
b. Once the Scholarship has been terminated, it will not be reinstated unless due to University error.
c. Where a student is found guilty of serious misconduct or the Scholarship is terminated under any instance in the Termination Clause of these terms and conditions, the University reserves the right to request that any Scholarship funds paid to the Scholarship recipient be reimbursed.
7. Other Requirements
a. Recipients may be asked to provide a testimonial and complete a feedback survey providing insights into the impact of the scholarship.
