Benefits

The applicant’s home institution shall provide a living allowance and appropriate health insurance. The China Scholarship Council shall provide return international airfare costs between China and Sydney and Visa costs.

The University of Sydney shall provide office and laboratory accommodation, and access to facilities required for research.

Who's eligible

You must:

  • be a citizen of the People's Republic of China
  • not be working or studying in Australia at the time of application
  • hold a Doctorate degree
  • satisfy the University of Sydney English-language proficiency requirements.

Background

The University of Sydney-China Scholarship Council Visiting Scholar (12 months or 24 months) fellowship for postdoctoral fellows was established to permit early career research scholars from leading Chinese research universities to conduct research at the University of Sydney. 

The Visiting Scholar fellowships are extremely prestigious, and applicants should preferably be engaged in an established research program at their home institution.

Successful applicants are expected to be based full-time at the University of Sydney for a period of one year (12 months visiting scholar) or two years (24 months visiting scholar).
