Visit the Maths Drop-in Centre (Quadrangle, Room N293), a dedicated study space where a Learning Success Advisor can offer answers and advice on the mathematical content or assumed knowledge of your coursework – no appointment required. Available Monday to Friday, 10 am to 4 pm during the semester.
Note that we're unable to discuss your assessments with you, such as assignments and online quizzes.
Get help with questions related to mathematics or statistics that may be troubling you or preventing you from progressing with other content.
We run individual workshops and ongoing Supplementary Learning Tutorials throughout the year to help you revise or consolidate your understanding in various topics, such as algebra and calculus.
If you're enrolled in certain units of study, you can join PASS to review the subject’s content and understand what’s involved in completing it from the perspective of a student who’s successfully completed the unit. These sessions involve collaboration, such as practice quizzes and brainstorming.
The MAP is a diagnostic tool that gives you appropriate, personalised support based on your mathematics knowledge before undertaking studies in fields that may require the use of mathematics or statistics. For example, it can help you select subjects and plan your degree.
Our short intensives introduce you to, or help you revise, the mathematical assumed knowledge for your courses.
Our MABs are here to help assess your maths background, guide you in choosing the right pre-semester preparation course or first-year maths units of study, and connect you with the learning support services you may need.
Access self-paced courses, modules and materials – these include short engaging videos and interactive tasks to develop your skills in your own time.
Some faculties and schools also run discipline-specific support for their students.
Staff members looking to refer a student needing mathematics support can complete the referral form, and the Learning Hub will reach out directly to the student to discuss their needs.
