This placement will give students experience working in a professional environment. This may include any number of non-farm agriculture or animal, natural resource-related business, e.g. A stock and station agent (e.g. CRC or Elders), farm consultancies (e.g. agronomist), ag-tech companies, non-profit organisations, Landcare, local Land Services etc. During your placement it is important for students to understand the nature of the business the environment in which it operates, the governance and how management decisions are made. More detail can be found in the placement guides on Canvas. There is a comprehensive list of businesses on the SONIA site, or students are welcome to find and add a new site.
