Student responsibilities

Inherent course requirements

Inherent requirements are the essential tasks and activities necessary to be able to achieve the core learning outcomes of a course. They are specific to a particular course or discipline.

To allow you to make informed choices about your study, we have identified the inherent requirements for coursework award courses in a range of study areas below.

To successfully complete your course, you will need to be able to carry out the list of relevant inherent requirements. You will also need to meet other compulsory requirements for your course, including the academic requirements set out in the resolutions of your handbook, and comply with Australian laws and University rules and policies.

The University is dedicated to ensuring that all students have equal access to learning. Where a disability impacts your ability to meet the inherent requirements for your course, we will make reasonable adjustments to assist you to meet these requirements.

Reasonable adjustments will be made if there are cultural or religious factors that impact on your ability to meet the inherent requirements.
