This unit builds on the knowledge gained from Internal and General Medicine 1A and 1B. Students will continue to build on their knowledge and experience of systemic disease and its impact on the orofacial region. Rotations through various medical and dental specialty clinics at Westmead Hospital continue and include Head and Neck Radiation Oncology, Haematology (with emphasis on the care of patients undergoing haematopoietic stem cell transplants), Dermatology, Immunology, Radiology/Nuclear Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, and Orofacial Pain. Students continue to attend weekly Medical Grand Rounds Students will expand their expertise in pharmacological management of these conditions.
