This unit follows on from Internal and General Medicine 1A. Students will continue to build upon their foundational knowledge of systemic disease and its impact on the orofacial region. Students continue to rotations through various medical and dental specialty clinics at Westmead Hospital including Head and Neck Radiation Oncology, Haematology (with emphasis on the care of patients undergoing haematopoietic stem cell transplants), Dermatology, Immunology, Radiology/Nuclear Medicine, Respiratory Medicine; and Orofacial Pain. Students also attend weekly Medical Grand Rounds Students will gain further understanding and experience in pharmacological management of these conditions.
