This unit provides students with the opportunity to consolidate their academic knowledge and skills through a self-sourced industry placement. Drawing on skills and knowledge developed in the core and elective units in their program and discipline area, students will gain practical experience in a professional setting relevant to their field of study. The placement enables students to engage with real-world practices, apply theoretical learning, and reflect on their role within an industry context. Students must secure approval from the Program Director before enrolling, and the host organisation must nominate a qualified industry supervisor. Students are required to complete a minimum of 120 hours of supervised experience, either full-time or part-time. A logbook documenting daily activities, signed by the supervisor, must be submitted upon completion. Assessment also includes a reflective report that synthesises the student’s experiences and evaluates the benefits of the placement using appropriate analytical methods aligned with their program.
