This unit of study examines theoretical models of industrial organisation, with a particular emphasis on market power and oligopoly behaviour. A central aim of the unit is to enable students to undertake further research in the area of industrial organisation. Topics may include: monopoly and nonlinear pricing strategies; dynamic oligopoly; collusion and mergers; and competition policy and government regulation.
