In this unit of study, students examine in depth a range of key policies and workplace issues that are directly relevant to their successful transition from pre-service teacher to fully-accredited professional. Students will explore case studies of first-year-out teachers and engage in seminars with early-career teachers and accomplished teacher mentors to more fully understand the complex contextual, personal and professional factors that contribute to a rewarding and sustainable teaching career. Students will reflect on the implications of policies, case studies and seminar themes for their professional goals, personal well-being and career pathways.
