In this Unit of Study students will further develop musical ideas and technical skills to play the harpsichord and will be introduced to the 18th-century fortepiano in a chosen program of study. There is a strong focus on Historical and stylistic awareness through research, discussion, and application, and students will also develop strategies to be self-correcting within practice. Students will study and gain experience of improvisation and cadenza writing.
