This unit examines the definition and innovations for digital assets and sustainable assets which are the two of the fastest growing securities classes. The unit will provide a high-level description of blockchain technology and distributed ledger which are used for different classes of digital assets such as cryptocurrencies. The unit will also introduce sustainable finance assets such as green/social impact securities and socially responsible funds with a focus on the synergy it has with digital assets. Students will learn about how digital and sustainable assets are being used to complement existing functions in finance and the impact of these to asset classes on investment decisions.
