Over the last five decades, migration has transformed Austria, Germany and Switzerland and their literatures, and more recently the refugee crisis has had a profound effect on Germany. This unit will focus on German-language literature by and about those who through flight, exile, migration have challenged and reimagined traditional conceptions of Austrian, German and Swiss national and cultural identity and notions of belonging.
