This unit of study introduces students to the professional practice of diagnostic radiography, with a specific focus on the chest, as well as the upper and lower limbs. The imaging techniques covered will include procedures that students are likely to encounter in both hospital and private practice clinical settings. Radiographic anatomy and pathology will be integrated with corresponding radiographic techniques. This unit will also incorporate evidence-based theory and critique of images as part of the practice. Clinical reasoning and justification will be thoroughly explored. Students are expected to enhance and broaden their learning experience by engaging in pre-reading of class materials and conducting independent research on relevant topics.
