Assessment summary

Skill-based assessment:

These workshops will emphasise the application of your knowledge and skills as a pharmacist, especially understanding of health services (e.g. PPMC, ISBAR) incorporating information gathering, information processing, and information delivery. Students are expected to apply Poisons and Therapeutic Goods legislation in NSW and/or pharmacy relevant law. Students are expected to do pre-work prior to the workshop and attempt a short online quiz at the start of the workshops. In addition, self-reflection and peer assessment of the application of these skills will be conducted to enforce learning. Attendance includes attending the workshop on time, participating in all workshops activities (including pre-work and reflections etc.) and behaving in a professional manner. You must pass this assessment to pass the unit of study (50%).

The short quizzes are designed to help students integrate and apply the knowledge and skills acquired in lectures and other related activities, in the management of patients’ health needs and problems, and other clinical issues they are likely to encounter as a practising pharmacist..

Lab Reports

The lab reports assess your understanding of the Cytotoxic Practical Lab and Biosimilar modelling lab, its relevance for oncology and immunology, and help develop your scientific writing skills.

2. Public Health presentation and proposal:

Students will be required to evaluate an existing public health intervention for oncological or immunological conditions. Each group will give a presentation to the class and will respond with questions and discussion.

Final Written Exam:

This examination will be based on lectures/workshops material from the oncology and immunology unit of study. The exam will comprise multiple-choice. You must pass this assessment to pass the unit of study (50%).

If you do not pass hurdle assessment(s) the maximum final grade you can obtain will be 45 FA, regardless of the total raw mark you obtain for the unit of study.

Assessment criteria

The University awards common result grades, set out in the Coursework Policy (Schedule 1).

As a general guide, a high distinction indicates work of an exceptional standard, a distinction a very high standard, a credit a good standard, and a pass an acceptable standard.

Credit	65 - 74	At CR level, a student demonstrates a good command and knowledge of the unit material. A ‘Credit’ reflects solid achievement and is awarded to a student who has a broad general understanding of the units material and can solve routine problems and/ or identify and superficially discuss theoretical concepts.
Pass	50 - 64	At PS level, a student demonstrates proficiency in the material. A ‘Pass’ reflects satisfactory adequately referencing the original source of the work.
Fail	0 - 49	When you don’t meet the learning outcomes of the unit to a satisfactory standard.

Late submission

In accordance with University policy, these penalties apply when written work is submitted after 11:59pm on the due date:

Deduction of 5% of the maximum mark for each calendar day after the due date.
After ten calendar days late, a mark of zero will be awarded.
