This unit offers an introduction to the central concepts of contemporary political philosophy including political legitimacy, social justice, equality, liberty, rights, and democracy. The unit applies these central concepts to contemporary political issues including gender equality, the ethics of markets, the ethics of immigration and borders, educational justice, and indigenous rights.
